Our History

Hardwick’s is a proudly Australian, family owned company that has been operating successfully for over forty years. In 1973 Gary and Vicki Hardwick started the business with an aim to provide premium quality beef and lamb with honest family service to their customers. The business grew and in 1979 relocated to Kyneton in Victoria’s central highlands district.

Hardwick’s now employ over four hundred staff but remains a family-driven business. Today, Hardwick’s is owned and managed by Gary and Vicki’s sons, Luke and James Hardwick. Gary remains on the Board and works very closely to provide his vast knowledge with years of industry experience. Luke and James continue to expand the business both locally and internationally with the same principles of excellence in both product and service that were the foundation upon which the business began four decades earlier.

Hardwick’s specialise in serving their customers beef, lamb and goat in carcase and carton form to ensure they receive the best quality in its freshest state. An extensive distribution network enables Hardwick’s to service customers across metropolitan and regional Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland. In addition to their domestic business, Hardwick’s holds a Tier One export license and have been exporting to approved countries around the world for almost two decades.

Hardwick’s as a business is underpinned by the fundamentals Gary and Vicki instilled at the beginning; consistency in supplying premium quality product with honest and exceptional service.
